Itinerary
Day 1 (Zagreb)
Welcome to your adventure in beautiful Croatia! From the airport in Zagreb, you’ll be transferred to your lovely lodgings (see Transportation section for transfer times). Enjoy some time on your own to settle in or to explore the nearby Old Town — the choice of fun is all yours. In the evening, you’ll meet up with your Travel Director and fellow DreamTrippers for a fabulous welcome dinner and wine. Cheers to good times ahead!

Day 2 (Zagreb)
Join your local expert to explore the 2-tiered capital of Croatia. Drive through the squares of Lower Town (Donji Grad), designed to give a sense of grandeur. See Mimara Museum in Roosevelt Square and continue to Ban Jelacic Square on the way to the cathedral. Ride the city's funicular to the medieval Upper Town (Gornji Grad). It's a network of little streets, stretching between the Kaptol and Gradec hills. View the former Presidential Palace, Stone Gate, St. Mark's Church and Lotrscak Tower. Upon returning to the hotel, the rest of the afternoon and evening is at your leisure. Relax and enjoy your hotel's amenities — or perhaps take an optional experience to the Zagorje region to learn about the local traditions and visit the house of Marshal Tito?

Day 3 (Zagreb to Opatija)
Venture into Slovenia to visit the world-famous Postojna Cave. Board the cave train and descend into a subterranean world of stunning stalactites, stalagmites — including Brilliant, the cave’s most beautiful stalagmite — and other fascinating formations. Return to Croatia and head to your hotel in the seaside resort town of Opatija, nestled at the foot of Mount Ucka. Take time to stroll by the luxurious villas lining the sea front promenade or simply rest up for the next day’s adventures.

Day 4 (Opatija)
Today, you’ll discover the “Jewels of Istria.” Cross the heart-shaped peninsula to visit the well-preserved 1st-century arena at Pula, scene of brutal gladiatorial battles in Roman times. Continue to the charming old town of Rovinj, rising directly from the sea. You’ll have time there to wander through the cobbled streets lined with tempting shops, pastel-colored bars and sidewalk cafes.

Day 5 (Opatija to Plitvice)
Enjoy the scenery of the Adriatic coast in the morning as you journey past sparkling seas and rocky islands before heading inland to visit one of Europe’s great natural wonders: Plitvice Lakes National Park. Explore with a special experience designed to encourage the greatest community benefit from travel and tourism. You can choose to: Join a local expert to learn how the site actively carries out research to monitor the natural habitat of species or meet the industrious women of the Tara Citizens Association who produce handicrafts, enabling employment and engagement in the community.

Day 6 (Plitvice to Split)
The green forests of Plitvice Lakes National Park give way to pebble-dashed shores lapped by turquoise waters as you travel along the Dalmatian coast. Walk through the Roman ruins and market to see the sea organ in the town of Zadar. Witness the dramatic change in landscape, as you travel through Mediterranean olive groves on your way to Trogir, a city founded by the Greeks in 3rd century B.C. There, you can admire the cathedral and 15th-century Cipiko Palace before continuing to the historic port of Split. In the evening, be sure to experience dinner in a traditional konoba (at an additional cost).

Day 7 (Split to Hvar)
The Roman Emperor Diocletian built his palace here and today it forms the heart of the Old Town of Split. With your local expert, explore the 1,700-year-old palace cellars, and learn the story of the infamous emperor. Continue through the labyrinthine streets and arcaded squares to see Cathedral of St. Domnius — originally Diocletian's Mausoleum — Temple of Jupiter and the Golden Gate. Continue your venture underground to see the cellars. After the tour, you'll cross the azure waters of the Adriatic to spend 2 nights on Hvar, famed for being the sunniest island in the country.

Day 8 (Hvar)
Enjoy a full day at your leisure to check out the hidden coves, secluded beaches, old monasteries and villages of Hvar at your own speed. Consider a stroll around seaside Stari Grad — one of Europe’s oldest towns and a UNESCO World Heritage site — or visit the local museum with its impressive collection of archaeological finds. You could even see the glitz and glamour of Hvar town with its yacht-lined marinas, famous for being the trendy playground of the rich and famous. The choice of fun is all yours!

Day 9 (Hvar to Korcula)
Cruise back to the mainland and continue your journey to the island of Korcula, known for its grace, history and rich culture. The perfect place for relaxing, the island is filled with quiet coves and small beaches that dot the south coastline. This evening, you'll delight in Croatian fare at a local restaurant.

Day 10 (Korcula)
In the morning, join a knowledgeable local expert for a walking tour of Korcula Old Town. Marvel at spectacular views of the mainland as you stroll towards the main square where St. Mark’s Cathedral dominates the ancient skyline. Hear about local legends and history from your guide, stopping by Korcula Town Museum, Bishop’s Palace with its treasury collection and Town Hall. Visit the ruins of the house where, according to local legend, Marco Polo was born. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the narrow streets, beautiful churches and magnificent palaces of this charming medieval town.

Day 11 (Korcula to Dubrovnik)
On your way to Dubrovnik, stop at a shellfish farm and meet a local oyster farmer to learn about the cultivation and harvest of oysters. Enjoy a delicious sea-to-table tasting of fresh shellfish, accompanied with a glass of wine. Once you reach the walled town of Dubrovnik, take a guided walking tour around 16th-century Old Town and the Jewish Quarter — you’ll walk past Onofrio's Fountain, see the ancient Sephardic synagogue, and marvel at the grandeur of the cathedral and the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries. The rest of the day is at your leisure. In the evening, you’ll have the option to enjoy dinner at a family home in a local village. Meet the family who will explain how they make olive oil using an antique olive oil press, before savoring a freshly prepared meal served with wine.

Day 12 (Dubrovnik)
Spend the day at your leisure or consider an optional visit to Montenegro, traveling along the coast to the pretty port town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A photographer's dream, you’ll see one of the most beautiful parts of the bay and learn about some of the compelling history of this area. Return to Dubrovnik and enjoy an evening at your leisure. Perhaps start at a trendy wine bar, followed by dinner at a romantic sidewalk cafe?

Day 13 (Dubrovnik)
Make the most of a full day of free time. Relax by the hotel pool, shop in the markets or perhaps take the opportunity to visit Cavtat, one of the most enchanting seaside resorts in Croatia. In the evening, start your celebration dinner with the favorite local drink — a glass of grappa. Savor authentic flavors of regional specialties and locally produced wine.

Day 14 (Dubrovnik)
As your journey winds down, have one last breakfast with your fellow DreamTrippers before saying farewell to captivating Croatia.
